ENGLISH: This episode of “Weaving Memory 23: Sumpul, the River that Breaks the World” details the history of the Sumpul River, in the department of Chalatenango, and the Massacre at the Sumpul River that took place on May 14, 1980. The episode describes the historical contexts of the event, what took place during the massacre, and the subsequent social and historical effects of the massacre.
